Equipment Details form
The Equipment Details form enables you to update the ownership and other details for the selected equipment. If you do not select a record in the list view, N4 disables the Equipment Details option.
Navis recommends that you use this form for maintenance only, such as correcting the equipment operator or the equipment owner.
In the Equipment Details form, you can update the following characteristics of the selected equipment:
Owner: Update the equipment owner.
Operator: Update the equipment operator.
When you update equipment operator, N4 creates UNIT_OPERATOR_CHANGE event for the unit. You can view the event on the History, Events tab (on page 1) in the Unit Inspector (on page 1). Further, you can view the detailed description about this event change in the Notes column on the History, Events tab (on page 1).
Use Mode: Update the equipment use mode to one of the following options:
Operator: Only the selected Operator uses the equipment.
Pool: The equipment is a part of an equipment pool.
Sublease: The selected Operator has subleased the equipment.
Unknown: The equipment user is unknown.
Off-Hire Location: Update the port where the equipment must end up for various reasons, such as a container may be off leased, decommissioned, or sold at a specific port.
If you enter the off-hire location for an equipment, N4 displays the value in the Status block in the Equipment Inspector (on page 1) for the selected equipment and also in the Routing tab (on page 1) of the Unit Inspector (on page 1), where the selected equipment is the primary equipment.
Grade ID: Update the grade for the selected equipment.
The Grade ID represents the grade of the container per operator. If you have two operators using the same container, each equipment status can have its own grade.
The lookup list displays only the equipment grades that exist at the current scope level. To add a new equipment grade, use the Equipment Grade form (on page 1).
Trip Count: Update the number of visits to the terminal made by the selected equipment since its last inspection. You can enter only non-negative integers in this field.
To automatically increment the trip count for a pooled chassis, include the IncrementChassisTripCount business task in your gate configuration.
When you update ownership and other details for a unit, N4 records the UNIT_PROPERTY_UPDATE event. You can view the event details on the Event History tab (on page 1) in the Unit Inspector.
To update the equipment details of one record:
In the list view, select the record for which you want to update the equipment details.
Select the Actions Equipment Details option.
The Equipment Details form displays the existing information for the record.
Update the equipment details for the selected record.
Click Save.
To update the equipment details of multiple records:
In the list view, select the records for which you want to update the equipment details.
Select the Actions Equipment Details option.
SPARCS N4 displays the fields in the Equipment Details form as view-only with a check box to the left of each field label.
Select the check box to the left of the field label of the field that you want to edit.
The field becomes editable.
Do not select the check box for a field that you do not want to update for all the selected records. If you select a check box and do not enter a value, the field is set to null for all the selected records.
Select or enter a value in the field.
The updated values apply to all the selected records.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to update other fields for the selected records.
Click Save.
